Edgar Centre

The Edgar Centre in Dunedin, one of the largest indoor sports venues in the Southern Hemisphere, partnered with Alloyfold to improve seating flexibility and comfort for events such as basketball, netball, and conferences. 

Alloyfold supplied a customised set of Tip n Roll portable grandstands - 2 x 9-seat, 6 x 7-seat, and 3 x 5-seat units - totalling 150 seats, all finished in dark blue polyethylene. 

Built with strong yet lightweight aluminium frames, these rust-resistant units are easy to manoeuvre, fit through standard doorways when tipped, and feature removable backrests and lockable wheels. 

Alloyfold collaborated closely with Edgar Centre staff, using CAD drawings and precise measurements to ensure the seating fit within tight sideline spaces. 

The result is a more versatile, spectator-friendly venue, with the added value of supporting Alloyfold’s social enterprise mission - funding Pathway’s work helping people reintegrate into the community through housing and employment support.
